Tools:
To complete the job you will need; cove adhesive, pencil, small toothed wood saw and WonderMitre.

Preparation:
Check that all wall/ceiling areas to be coved are clean, sound and free from loose material.

Cutting:
Always place coving length on flat surface, concave surface upwards.  Use a small toothed wood saw with the blade flat against the sloping face of the WonderMitre guide.

Coving a standard wall (Internal Mitres)
Example length 13’

1. You will need 2 lengths of coving.  Position WonderMitre guide at extreme left of first length so that guide locating slots rest on coving edges.  Saw the left side of the guide.  Left-hand mitre A.Then position WonderMitre guide at extreme right of second length and saw right side of guide.  Right-hand mitre B.

2. Fix left hand mitred coving strip in position with adhesive.  Hold right hand mitred strip to wall, mark where it overlaps fixed strip, and trim overlapping straight end to length.  Finally, use a good filler to fill in any small gaps.

Coving a projecting wall or chimney breast (External Mitres)

3. Start with returns of chimney breast or projection.  Cut appropriate internal mitre to fit with back wall coving.  Hold in position and mark return length on lower edge of coving.  Using this mark cut external mitre C or  D as required.

NB Do not fix returns or front face coving strips until all mitres have been cut and checked for fit.

4. For front face of chimney breast, pre-cut one end of strip with appropriate external mitre, C or  D.  Hold in position and mark front face length on lower edge of coving.  Use this mark to cut other external mitre.
