Preparation of Joints
Taping:
| • |
Mix sufficient Wondertex compound for immediate use – details on packaging for typical usable time once product is mixed. |
| • |
Apply the Wondertex compound to the joints |
| • |
Press White Jointing Tape firmly into the material with caulker and remove excess material. |
| • |
Immediately tape is in place apply a pre- caulking layer flush with the board surface. |
| • |
Allow the pre-caulking layer to firm (not dry). |
Caulking:
| • |
Apply caulking coat. |
| • |
Ensure tape edges are eliminated. |
| • |
Fill nail heads flush with board. |
| • |
When caulking material is firm to the touch apply texture coat. |
| • |
If caulking is allowed to dry, a coat of sealer is required before applying texture coat. (The product is best when caulking is not allowed to dry).
|
|
Preparation of surface
| • |
Ensure surfaces are clean and free from dust. |
| • |
Ensure plasterboard is dry before you start. |
| • |
Apply texture coat. |
|
Special Conditions
In the event of a hot environment (ie hot weather, heated work area etc.) the pre-caulking area may dry too quickly. If this should occur we recommend the whole surface is treated with WonderTex Sealer prior to caulking.
